Family Involvement
We believe that families are essential partners in the educational process. We encourage parent involvement through:
Open Communication: Regular updates and newsletters keep parents informed about classroom activities and events.
Family Events: We host workshops, family nights, and community celebrations to strengthen the connection between home and school.
Parent Workshops: Educational sessions for parents on topics such as child development, nutrition, and early literacy help support learning at home.

What is Family Success Planning?
Economic Mobility Coaching, developed by Boston-based nonprofit EMPath (Economic Mobility Pathways), is a a different approach to traditional social services that helps individuals and families achieve economic stability and independence. Known as Mobility Mentoring, this coaching model is grounded in brain science, which recognizes that chronic stress can hinder a person's ability to plan their future. Unlike a traditional case manager who may direct a person's actions, a Mobility Mentor acts as a partner, empowering participants to identify their own goals and build the skills needed to overcome obstacles and navigate their own path toward economic stability.
The core of this coaching model is a visual tool called the Bridge to Self-Sufficiency, which helps participants set and track their progress across five key areas: family stability, well-being, financial management, education, and employment. Through this framework, the coach helps a participant set both short-term and long-term goals. The participant-led approach, coupled with positive reinforcement and incentives for progress, is designed to increase motivation and self-efficacy, helping people not just achieve temporary stability but build the skills and confidence to sustain their economic independence for the long term.
Understanding Family Success Coaching
-
Program Intent: The purpose of this coaching is to help you set and work towards goals for yourself and your family. This could include goals related to career, finances, education, or other areas of your life.
-
Cost: it is free to families. Our program is paid for by a grant, so our services come at no cost to the families we serve.
-
Voluntary Participation: This program is entirely voluntary. You can choose to stop receiving coaching at any time without issue.
-
Confidentiality: Your discussions with your coach will be kept confidential. Your personal information will not be shared outside of the program staff without your written permission, except in cases where required by law (e.g., in a situation of a safety concern).
-
Coach's Role: Your coach is a guide and a partner. They are here to help you identify your strengths, create a plan to reach your goals, and help you find resources. They will not provide direct financial or legal advice.
-
Your Role: You are an active participant in your coaching sessions. You will work with your coach to set goals and will do your best to follow through with your agreed-upon action steps.
