GRADE BAND LEADER
Position Requirements
Grade Band Leaders are responsible for providing supervision, guidance, and support in the implementation of ATZ programming. Functions include but are not limited to supporting students academically with homework and assigned learning materials, overseeing and maintaining student behavior, and facilitation enrichment activities that enhance and support positive academic outcomes for the youth enrolled.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma, although some college education is preferred with at least 1-2 years of experience in one of the following areas: educating students 5-14 years of age, youth development, community development or family services.
Safety, supervisory, and youth engagement skills are essential. Must have skills in relating to youth, parents, school staff, educators, and community at large. Must have an understanding of and experience with multi-cultural populations, as well as a strong understanding of families in poverty.
Current first aid and CPR certifications are preferred as well.
Must be able to pass a background check, including FBI and BCI checks and drug testing.
Primary Activities
1) Provide direct supervision at all times of assigned youth, supporting all students with various behavioral or academic challenges with care, compassion and love.
2) Deliver and support programming to ATZ students between the ages of 5 to 14 in the areas of language arts, mathematics, social-emotional learning, STEM, art, music, sports/recreation, field trips and other components of the program.
3) Communicate effectively with students, parents, co-leaders and community partners.
4) Participate in training and huddles with site coordinator.
5) Refer families with needs for additional support to the site coordinator.
6) Support awareness of other programs offered by ATZ.
7) Follow Code of Conduct, Dress Code and ATZ policies.
8) Other duties as assigned per Site Coordinator.
