BEHAVIOR SUPPORT COORDINATOR
The Behavioral Support Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with school leadership teams to implement behavioral support services, addressing student needs through research-based interventions, and maintaining positive relationships with families and staff to enhance social-emotional learning and academic progress. Key functions include supervising students in behavioral interventions, coordinating with other staff, and supporting trauma-informed programs and restorative practices.
Primary Activities
1) Work collaboratively with The Art Tatum Zone leadership team, Toledo Public Schools school-based leadership teams, and teachers to facilitate the implementation of behavioral support services at a school level for school referred youth using social emotional learning theory, restorative practices, and positive behavioral interventions.
2) Analyze student needs and implement research-based interventions to address behavioral issues that impact academics, classroom behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
3) Develop and maintain positive working relationships with families, staff, and community members.
4) Supervise and monitor students referred to Behavioral Support Interventions. Monitor academic progress, provide tutoring as needed, help students set daily goals, and oversee Social Emotional Learning psycho-educational groups.
5) Coordinate activities with other staff, including tutors and volunteers.
6) Motivate students with prosocial behavior management techniques.
7) Support trauma-informed program delivery and restorative practices.
8) Organize, maintain, and submit all necessary records including registration information, attendance sheets, rosters, individual behavioral plans, and monthly and quarterly reports.
9) Communicate progress of students with building staff and parents.
10) Work with community agencies to provide support services to youth and families.
11) Participate in all required events and meetings, including quarterly All-Site meetings and trainings.
12) Support other Art Tatum Zone programs as needed.
13) Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
