At Pickett Academy, the Community Hub is more than a concept—it’s a living, thriving connection point between the school, families, and the surrounding neighborhood. Led by the Art Tatum Zone, the Pickett Academy Community Hub brings together education, health, safety, and community support under one roof to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
WHAT WE DO
As a School as a Community Hub, Pickett Academy serves as a safe and welcoming space for students and families to grow, connect, and achieve. We work closely with school staff, families, and local partners to address real needs and create a strong foundation for learning and well-being.
Our work is centered around equity, access, and family empowerment—helping each student thrive inside and outside the classroom.
OUR PRIORITIES
Safety First
A secure and supportive environment is the foundation for learning. We work to ensure that Pickett Academy is a physically and emotionally safe space for all students, with a focus on trust-building, trauma-informed practices, and positive school culture.
Academic Support in Reading & Math
We’re focused on helping students master the core skills that matter most. Through targeted tutoring, in-class support, afterschool programming, and one-on-one attention, we boost student achievement in reading and mathematics—giving every learner the tools to grow.
Increased Parental Engagement
Parents and caregivers are powerful partners. We offer workshops, events, and leadership opportunities that invite families into the life of the school—helping them feel welcomed, informed, and empowered to support their children’s success.
