Family & Community Engagement

 Volunteers Needed - You can bless others with a gift of time.  Volunteers needed 30-60 minutes prior to the event and 30 minutes after the event for setup and organization.  Interested in volunteering, use the link related to each event

Thanksgiving Dinner at Pickett Elementary, November 16, 5-6:30pm

Plate dinner and serve families, greet and welcome, help with craft table.  Thanksgiving at Pickett sign up:

December 15, Christmas Shoeboxes assemble and distribute to Pickett Elementary students in K-2.   You may also collect a boy or girl shoebox full of gifts and bless kids.    Drop off your wrapped and labeled shoeboxes (label gender and age) before December 13.   If you can help unload donated boxes, join us on Dec 9 at noon.

We are collected and put together 100 I have a Dream Kits for local students at Pickett Elementary in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th!  Thank you to the volunteers from SSOE and the UT Football team for assembling these items  in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.   Also, thank you to Toledo Museum of Art for hosting us for this day of service.  THANK YOU for doing BOLD ACTS of LOVE to make a difference in our COMMUNITY!

PORCHFEST outdoor live music event at Art Tatum's childhood home on City Park Rd on a Sunday afternoon in October in honor of Art Tatum's birthday!  Community partners, local talent, food trucks and CAKE.  Come and invite a friend to this special event.


Thank you for the generous show of support in helping us bless over 1000 kids with shoeboxes of gifts at our surrounding schools for students in grades k thru 2.  Just look at the smiles you were responsible for!

at Pickett School

Thank you for helping us to host and serve 200 families at this year's Thanksgiving dinner.  We are so blessed to have many hands and feet make light work of uplifting others in our community.
